Painted in Byron Bay, Australia
The royal blue colour is as recognisable as its striking bird counterpart, the Peacock. The Peacock is rich in symbolism and has cultural significance across the world. In the Eastern cultures, the bird and feathers are usually sacred and associated with royalty, divinity beauty and good fortune.
It surprised me to find that in some Western Cultures' superstitions connected the peacock with bad luck. Symbolism connected to The Evil Eye to bringing misfortune to actors on stage if peacock feathers were used as props.
To me this bird is too majestic to be a bad omen (even if they love staring at themselves in the mirror and have wildly loud calls). When I made this piece the energy behind it was one of renewal, rebirth, transformation and power.
So allow this piece to first bring you clarity, give you space for growth and abundance in the things you desire most.
