About Jana
I'm a self-taught artist, currently based in Townsville, Australia. My art is intuitive, influenced by everything that surrounds me—the wild colours found in nature, the patterns, the sounds, the music, the ancient symbols, to how we think, constructs that we create for ourselves, or simply how we even exist. These things can sometimes be obvious, but sometimes subliminal in my art.
The thing about abstract art, for me, is that it’s a conversation. You don’t really need to know why I created a piece for you to create your own connection and story to the artwork—in fact, I want you to find your own meaning with my pieces. These artworks are my mirror, but they can also be yours to reflect your own experiences. I will still give you my unsolicited write-ups for each piece, but I also love hearing what comes to people when they see my artworks or why they connect with them.
My original artworks are acrylic on stretched canvas, sometimes experiments are made with other mediums, however this is my bread and butter. They’re usually bold in colour, with layered textures, covered in patterns or hidden messages. They’re not about perfection, but an expression in its raw form, which hopefully makes you feel something.
If prints are made of the artwork, they will be a limited edition of 100 prints, embossed, signed and numbered by yours truly. The paper is a premium fine-art paper with a lightly textured matte finish, and the artwork is printed using the Giclée, 9-colour printing process to make sure it’s the closest match to the original (and so that the colour is impressive)—providing you with the highest-quality print which, if cared for properly, will last you over 100 years.
Judging by the fact you’ve made it this far, you might be interested in following my artistic journey—sign up to my newsletter below or follow me on socials @thejanasaga to see where this goes. I appreciate everyone who joins me on this path.
It’s you who let me do what I love, so THANK YOU.
